Four Directions Teepee
Four Directions Teepee – A Tribute to Nature’s Balance
The Four Directions Teepee honors the vast, interconnected world of nature, reminding us that life extends in all directions, beyond human influence. Every element in this design reflects the harmony and abundance found in the natural world.
At the top of the teepee, the Four Directions symbol represents nature’s reach across the earth, ensuring balance and sustenance for all living things. Below it, a vibrant color band symbolizes the diverse creatures that inhabit every corner of the planet.
The vertical circle patterns near the base—our Many Lakes design—reflect the endless flow of water, the lifeblood of everything above and below the land. Finally, the stylized ravens remind us that all living beings are free to exist in harmony, thriving through mutual respect and coexistence.
This teepee is more than just a shelter—it’s a living tribute to nature’s beauty, abundance, and interconnection. This design brings timeless symbolism to life in an authentic, meaningful way.

Transporting Your Poles
Most poles can be transported on your SUV, van or truck if you have the suitable rack for it.
A set of 17 x 24 ft. long poles weighs approx. 450 lbs. and a set of 20 x 27 ft. long poles weighs roughly 600 lbs.
Inspect For Damage
Please be present to receive your poles, as drivers are not required to assist with the unloading. Count the poles and inspect them for major damage.
Normal Wear
Please note that small cracks and checks (a lengthwise separation of the wood as a result of the drying process) are perfectly normal in tipi poles. Dirt and scuff marks may happen during transportation, but cannot be claimed as damage.
More Than a Teepee: Giving Back with Every Purchase
Each Tipi we offer is part of something bigger. Every purchase contributes to a range of initiatives rooted in cultural respect, environmental responsibility, and meaningful collaboration with Native American communities.
Tipi covers are regularly donated to Native American non-profits, elders, and community leaders, with the deepest discounts reserved for those directly connected to the culture. Organizations such as Red Cloud Renewable, a 100% Native American–run nonprofit on the Pine Ridge Reservation, are among the key beneficiaries. Red Cloud Renewable works to revitalize sacred sites and local ecosystems through the planting of ponderosa pine, cottonwood, and fruit trees. As of 2023, there is also a partnership with One Tree Planted to ensure that one tree is planted for every tipi pole sold—directly on Indigenous land.
In addition, 1% of annual tipi sales are donated to vetted environmental organizations through 1% for the Planet, and the makers are certified by Green America, adhering to rigorous standards for sustainable and ethical business practices.
All untreated base materials used in these tipis are GOTS-certified 100% organic cotton, selected to reduce environmental harm and support healthier, more independent livelihoods for cotton farmers in India. While the Sunforger® treatment used for durability prevents full organic certification of the final product, the sourcing decision reflects a strong commitment to sustainability.
While we’re not the operators of these programs ourselves, we’re proud to align with makers who uphold these values—and honored to offer products that contribute to cultural preservation, environmental renewal, and responsible business.
